**Inch Loss Program
I started the M’lis inch loss program the week of my birthday and I was so
excited. In the beginning it was really hard to get out of my eating habits. When
I realized what I was eating before it really made me think. I never thought
something so small could be so high in fats. Everyday when I eat something I
write it down and count the fats and calories. I finally know exactly what I am
eating. Along with eating right, I exercise 3-4 days a week. Going out to eat
has changed a lot for me. I can no longer go and have a hamburger and fries
like everyone else. I hardly ever eat out which was a really big problem for me
because I lived on fast food. I cook a lot now at home. It’s healthier and makes
me feel better.
Being an overweight teen is so frustrating because I never was able to wear
clothes that were cute. I never fit into clothes right and I hated to go shopping
because I would always get mad when something wouldn’t fit. The worst thing
about being overweight in high school is gym class. I always got out of breath
more easily than others and I was always the last one to get done with the mile.
Getting dressed for class was a very humiliating experience because I didn’t look
like anyone else. I always thought that the other girls were looking at me but
they never really were.
OBSTACLES
- Living with mom: She has a weight problem. She buys junk food for her to have around the house.
- School Lunches: I had to take my own lunch or go home for lunch because school lunches are high in fat.
- Eating out: Not going out for dinner with family and friends all the time is hard. Eating out is how I gained all the weight in the first place.
HIGHLIGHTS

Weight Loss Program
I was tired of fooling myself into thinking that people should just accept me
for who I was, when I couldn’t even accept myself. Let’s be real, I’ve been
overweight all my life and I was tired of putting on this front. I heard the success
of previous clients, and thought if they could do it, why can’t I? I called for my
free consultation; it put things into perspective for me.
I’m the success now! I have lost over 54 pounds. Exercise and proper nutrition
have taught me to take the time for myself. I used to think I wasn’t worthy of
time for just me. Things have changed; planning ahead makes my life a lot
simpler and happier. Now I have the energy and time to exercise and make
healthier choices for my daughter and me. I see what a better person this has
made me; it’s the quality of time I spend with her that I enjoy the most. The
positive choices I make are the ultimate reward.
