Fact or Fiction?
Eating late at night can cause weight gain.
FACT

Not only does eating late at night contribute to weight gain, but eating during the 2 hours before bedtime can also cause poor sleep...which also leads to weight gain, restlessness, and lack of focus.

"I'm new to Texas and I'm glad I found a place to get my nails done. This is the third time I have come and have gotten their pedi and manicure. I've had a great experience each time. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and I've enjoyed a glass of wine or two. The people are also very nice. This is my go to place and today they have a special for breast cancer awareness where part of my purchase goes to a great cause!"

- Christina D (5 stars)

"I get facials regularly and have noticed improvement in my coloring and complexion on their recommendations. Costs are a bit higher then other places, but there are frequently deals and the quality is worth it."

- Sheila O.

Get Flawless Skin!

Have you experienced the skin care benefits of papaya oil? Papaya oil is an excellent deep cleanser as it quickly breaks down dead skin cells. It's also great for treating many skin problems such as pimples, wrinkles, psoriasis, and eczema. Give it a try!

It's all in the eyes...

When applying eyeliner, keep the line thin. A thick line makes eyes look darker and smaller. Also, don't line the bottom of your eyes all the way to the inner corner. Stop about a half-inch before the corner to show off wider, brighter eyes.

On-demand workouts

Video on-demand workouts at home and on the go are becoming increasingly popular. All you have to do is become a member of an on-demand website and you can workout at your convenience in any venue...at home, at the beach, or even in front of your computer on your lunch break. We give this a big thumbs up!

Q: The warmer weather has caused me to breakout on my back, shoulders, and chest, and my regular soap isn't helping. Is there anything else I can do?

A: 6 Tips On Clearing & Preventing Body Breakouts

Minimize Sun Exposure. With minimum sun exposure will help to reduce the risk of skin cancer and clogged pores. If you are prone to back acne, wear face sunscreens since they are free of pore-clogging ingredients.

Shower ASAP After Sun & Sweat. After working out, spending time outdoors or doing anything elsewhere you're sweating, shower ASAP. Sitting around in a sweaty sports bra and letting the sweat and dirt dry on your back can lead to more breakouts so wash your back as soon as you can, ideally before the sweat dries into your skin (From the Beauty Bean).

Use Acne-Clearing Body Wash. When washing your back (or any other area of your body prone to breakouts) use a pore-clearing body wash with salicylic acid ingredient. Try Image Salicylic Gel Cleanser, 3 in 1 gel cleanses, exfoliates and tones. BHA foaming gel cleanser that gently removes makeup and eliminates excess oil. Adds essential anti-oxidants to keep skin soft, purified and shine free.

Wash Your Back Last. Most of us don't think much about the order of our shower routine. Between shaving, cleansing, shampooing and conditioning, for most of us the order doesn't really matter. If you have back breakouts, though, it's essential that you wash your back last. After shampooing and conditioning, pull your hair over your shoulder and wash your back (with an acne-clearing body wash) so that your conditioner doesn't get on your back (From the Beauty Bean).

Keep Wet Hair Off Your Back. Whether you blow-dry or air-dry your hair, many of us allow out wet hair to rest on our backs. Hair products, though, are often one of the most common causes of bacne, so keep wet hair off your back at all costs to avoid left-on conditioner or styling products from clogging your pores. Similarly, have a designated “hair towel” to further reduce the risk of leftover hair conditioner or any other products from transferring to your back. (From the Beauty Bean).

Treat Nightly. Before heading to bed, use a salicylic acid pad (like Image Skin Care Clear Cell salicylic clarifying pads) to cleanse your back and remove dead skin cells, heal breakouts and prevent future pimples.

Are you ready to walk the red carpet all month long?? This month includes celebrity appearances on awards shows such as the Teen Choice Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards. Isn't it fun watching the rich and famous stroll out on the red carpet looking absolutely breathtaking? Have you ever wondered how they get so flawless? Keep reading for secrets so you, too, can get red-carpet ready.

Secret 1: Body Polish

img

For smooth, supple skin like the stars, reserve a body polish. A body polish is a treatment of the entire body that exfoliates and hydrates the skin. It's like a facial for your body.

Your skin will:

  • Feel softer and smoother
  • Be moisturized and hydrated
  • Be free of oil and dirt buildup
  • You will be glowing

Secret 2: Facials

img

Healthy, radiant skin begins with a proactive skin care regimen. Celebrities don't get their beautiful complexions overnight. Monthly facials are a must for glowing, younger-looking skin.

Monthly facials will:

  • Reduce the impact of environmental factors such as sun exposure, smoking, etc.
  • Reduce the appearance of dry, wrinkled skin.
  • Enhance the effects of cosmetics and health products.

Secret 3: Healthy Eating and Exercise

img

Celebrities know that your diet is revealed in your skin. That's why they are adamant about their food and drink choices. The food you eat makes an impact in the health and overall appearance of your skin. Antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables help protect your skin and fight wrinkles. The antioxidants in fresh berries and salmon's omega-3 fatty acids both help improve the health of your skin's cells and slow premature aging. Also, include nuts, legumes, green leafy vegetables, and plenty of water in your diet.

Add to this at least 30 minutes of exercise.... swimming, walking, yoga, spin class...you name it, just get out there, and you will be surprised at how youthful and radiant you look and feel!
